What is Acupuncture?

Acupuncture is a collection of procedures involving the use of fine needles to stimulate certain points on the body and according to traditional Chinese medicine, stimulates specific points and corrects imbalances in the flow of “natural energy” (or “qi“) through channels known as meridians. It is through the correcting of these “imbalances” that a more natural flow is encouraged through out the body or in a specific affected area.

It can be beneficial when dealing with chronic pain (from sports injuries to migraines), blood circulation and the general well-being of the body.

Acupuncture’s use for certain conditions has been recognized by the United States National Institutes of Health, the National Health Service of the United Kingdom, the World Health Organization, and the National Center for Complementary and Alternative Medicine.
