New at Stella's Touch
SACRED HAWAIIAN LOMI MASSAGE
Sacred Lomi Hawaiian Temple Bodywork is somitimes referred to as loving hands massage.
It is an ancient Polynesian form of healing that can create energy shifts. It is a
combination of massage and energy work that unites the body, mind and spirit.
During
the session the practitioner uses breath, dance, and music. The breath is the universal
life force energy. The dance or movement pattern is a prayer in motion aligning us on all
levels of our being. The music adds beautiful, uplifting, meditative energy for the body,
mind, and spirit to soar.
The whole body is worked on including the face, belly, buttocks
and breast area. The techniques go on top, underneath and all over the body.
Let clients know that htere are no sheets on the table. The body is worked on as a whole,
so for this only the genital area is draped. The room is heated, the music and techniques
are different. The music is Hawaiian, Native, East Indian and Drumming.
It is a very
intimate massage. Many clients say that it feels like there is many hands on them.
Because lomi works on body, mind and spirit, clients may have visualizations, and old
memories may arise.
This is o.k. and they are encourage to relax and go with it. If
people are uncomfortable or change their mind, it is no problem to switch to Swedish
Massage. Treatments are an hour and a half.
The client should:
Shave
Eat lightly beforehand
No caffeine
Don't wear fancy clothes because of the oil
They should think about their intention for the treatment
Choose to be gentle, open and accepting of themself.
Clients may have visualizations and relive past memories, just allow it to happen
Don't schedule appointments right after treatment, you may be tired, energized or want to discuss the session.
If you want more information, please visit Sacred Lomi Massage
or call Stacey at (613) 482-0879.

CRANIOSACRAL
The craniofacial system consists of the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protects
the brain and spinal cord. It expends from the bones of the skull, face, mouth, which make up
the cranium, down to the sacrum, or tailbone area.
Since the vital system influences the development and performance of the brain and spinal cord,
an imbalance or restriction in it could cause any number of sensory, motor or neurological
disabilities. Theses problems could include chronic pain, eye difficulties, scoliosis,
motor-coordination impairments, learning disabilities and other health challenges.
Craniosacral Therapy is a gently method of detection and correction that encourages your
own natural healing mechanisms to dissipate these negative effects of strees on you central
nervous system, you can also benefit from overall health and resistance to disease.
What does CranioSacral Therapy Address?
Migraines and headaches
Chronic neck and back pain
Motor-Coordination impairment
Stress and tension related problems
Infantile disorders
Traumatic brain and spinal cord injuries
Chronic fatigue
Scoliosis
Central nervous system disorders
Emotional Difficulties
Temporomandibular joint syndrome (TMJ)
Learning disabilities
Post traumatic stress disorder
Orthopedic problems
And namy other conditions
How is Craniosacral performed?
Craniosacral is performed on a table and the person is fully clothed. Using a very light touch,
the practitioner monitors the rhythm of the crainosacral syste, which can be felt just like
a pulse. The practitioner detects any restrictions or imbalances. The practitioner then
uses gentle manual techniques to release the problem areas and relieve undue pressure on the
brain and spinal cord.
A session is normally an half and hour to an hour. You can also incorporate it with massage.
Try a half session of massage and half sessions of craniofacial. It is common to feel heat,
a shifting in your body, gurgling, and emotions may come up and be released. Craniosacral
is a very gentle touch that relaxes people, many fall asleep. Yes the treatment is still working
if you are asleep. There is no pain or complications with craniofacial as it is a very safe
treatment.
